Here are some more cute pictures I thought you might like. Abby is getting so big. She is turning more and more into a little girl and is less and less a baby. It amazes us at how fast she is growing and how big she is! She is absolutely adorable and makes some of the cutest expressions.

So here are some of her newest acomplishments.

She started to say "Mama mama" a few days ago and then the next day, she said "Dada dada" and has forgotten that she can say "mama" but we do have the first words on video so we have proof that she really did say it... hehehe

We took her to the beach and let her put her feet in the water. Abby loves water but she didn't like the big wave that came up and hit her bottom. She recovered quickly but got sand on her hands and began to rub it in her eyes. I guess she just takes after her daddy. *sigh* He hates the beach too...oh, "not the beach really but being sandy and wet and getting sand in the car and sunburn and" as he would say...I don't see much of a difference.

When we were in Texas, we got Abby some rubber ducky toys that lightup in the bathtub! She loves them! Recently, we got her a water-baby doll and she loves it too! She is getting more and more interested in toys and not just for chewing on. However, she does love to chew on the waterbaby's feet. When we were in Texas, she went through a phase where she hated water. It was really like that! She hated to be in the tub! But we are happy to announce that she is over that phase and loves baths again! Bath toys for the win!

Abby is getting very mobile. A month or so ago, she pivited in a circle around her head for the most part and rolled only a few inches to a foot in either direction. Now, she scoots anywhere and at any time. Our house makes a circle around the kitchen. Sometimes if we are cooking and doing dishes, we might shut one of the doors to keep her out from under foot. She has quickly discovered that there is a second door to the kitchen in the hallway and she scoots around to it as fast as lightning! She is getting into everything! We are quickly learning how unbaby-proofed our house is!

She likes her walker still and will go crazy walking around the house in it but if you hold her up and try to get her to walk without it by holding onto your hands, she takes a few steps and then lunges to the floor to scoot because she knows that scooting is faster. She is at the threshhold of crawling. She can do the 'baby push ups' and she can get her legs under her but she doesn't move forward. She only rests like that before dropping back onto her tummy for an Air Force style high-crawl. *Just like Daddy! :)*

She just started to take toys with her when she scoots the other day. She used to abandon them in search of new 'fun things' but now, she takes small toys with her in her hand and I did spy her trying to take her water-baby with her the other day. She couldn't manage to move with it in her hands so she bit its foot and started scooting. She got several feet with it before she saw me and dropped it to smile. She is actually starting to PLAY with her toys and to touch them and explore them and not just eat them so much. Not that that doesn't happen as well.

The hand in the mouth thing has begun to disappear. She used to just jam a whole hand or if she was lucky, two hands or two hands and a foot into her mouth! Now she rarely puts more than a finger in and only a few times a day. She likes the pacifier and she sometimes needs it if she is really grouchy and sleepy but she's not 'joined at the hip' with it.

She eats very well now. She likes to try to feed herself and so I will often let her. She loves to taste whatever we are eating and if I think it's okay, I'm game for letting her try as much as she can. She loves to sit in her high chair with crumbled up crackers or smashed up cereal pieces on the tray for her to try to feed herself. She does quite well at it but I'm afraid that she feeds the chair and the floor nearly as much as herself. (she hasn't quite got the focusing on one very small thing and putting it into her mouth down yet.) She does well with one unbroken cracker in her hands and has figured out how to take small bites and chew them up but mostly I use the crumbled method.

She is very clingy and is especially attached to Mommy right now. She cries if I am ever out of sight and tries to follow me wherever I go.

She takes two or three naps a day now. She sleeps long nights. She puts herself to bed at night! Yay! I don't need to rock her for her to go to sleep. She just cries for maybe 5 minutes but if you put her down when she's REALLY sleepy, she won't cry at all.

She is very food driven. We are trying to teach her to say "please" when she wants a bite of something. Obviously, that won't happen for a while since she can only say "Dada" right now but we are trying to make it a habbit. Whenever she hears "please" she turns her head and opens her mouth like a baby bird. She will scoot as fast as she can to get to a piece of food that is being held out to her. It's funny though because, she eats a lot but she is only in the 10-25% for her age with her weight. (For those of you who don't know, that means that she is on the small side. She is the same size as 10-25% of other babies and 50 is adverage size and 95 is bigger than adverage). Her head and her lenght are in the 25-50%.

She loves books! If Abby sees me reading a book, she will try to turn the pages and read it too. She scoots the fastest to get to a pile of books. She loves the pictures. Currently she only has two cardboard page books that I let her handle on her own but she has a few other books that we also read to her and she likes to turn the pages. She's still a little rough for me to let her hold them on her own.

And just in case your are wondering, the fourth picture across the top is us on Mother's Day, wearing our Easter dresses. She was soooooooooo cute! Everyone at our church loves her!

Pic 1. Playing with a friend's snack container.

2. Glowing ducks in the tub

3. The hand thing
4. Mother's Day in our Easter dresses

5. Trying to get the cookies in a sealed box

6. Reading. This is her favorite page. Probably because the hair is so long on this page!

7. Reading together.

8. She still likes red. She nearly jumped out of the shopping cart to get this outfit so we bought it for her. She loves RED! *sigh* and Mommy wanted a pink lover..... :)

9. Going to the beach in her new swimsuit and her cute baby flip flops.

10. Cuddling with her aunt Rachel. Sooooo cute!
(Again, clicking on most of the pictures will bring up a larger view if you are interested.)
